The World Health Assembly (WHA) is the group that makes important decisions for the World Health Organization (WHO). Representatives from all countries that are members of WHO come to this meeting. They talk about specific health issues chosen by the Executive Board.
- Deciding the rules and policies of WHO.
- Choosing the Director-General.
- Supervising financial policies.
- Reviewing and approving the budget plan.
The WHA meeting happens every year in Geneva, Switzerland.
This year the Government of Egypt and the Initiative on Climate Action and Nutrition will host a special roundtable discussion. This group includes FAO, WHO, SUN, UN-Nutrition and GAIN. The meeting is by invitation only. The goal is to make nutrition a key part of the discussion on climate and health. They will discuss a new Resolution at WHA77. Member States will share their best ideas and programs that connect health, nutrition and climate actions.
