A fully digital Xbox Series X is arriving this holiday season

Must read

At the end of the Xbox Games Showcase Microsoft showed off some new Xbox consoles. One of them is an updated Xbox Series X. This time it comes in a colour called robot white and doesn’t have a disc drive. That means you can’t use CDs or DVDs with it. It has 1TB of storage space and costs $450. The original Series X usually costs $500 but Microsoft is currently selling it for $450.

Anticipated Disc-Free Xbox

People were expecting a disc-free Xbox for a while now. Back in March there was a rumor about this new white model. Just like Sony did with the PS5 maybe Microsoft will make an attachment so you can use discs later if you want.

Special Edition Xbox Series X

There’s also going to be a special version of the Xbox Series X. It’s called galaxy black and it does have a disc drive. It also has double the storage space of the regular Series X with 2TB. This special version comes with a controller that matches its colour and costs $600.

Update for Xbox Series S

The Xbox Series S is also getting an update but it is not as big. Last year Microsoft released a version with 1TB of storage in a colour called carbon black. Now they are making the same 1TB version but in robot white. This will be available in some places for $350. The black version will only be sold “while supplies last” which means they might not make it anymore.

Microsoft will tell us more about when these new consoles will be available and how much they will cost in different places. They are also planning to make controllers that match certain games and more designs for the Xbox Series X consoles.
