Another case of Polio has been reported in Baluchistan Pakistan. This the third polio case reported during the year 2024, as two cases has already been reported in different districts of Baluchistan. Current case is in Killa Abdulah District of Baluchistan. In Killan Abdullah 12-years old girl is found with wild poliovirus 1 (WPV1).
As per information shared by officials WPV1 was detected in stool samples collected from 144-month-old child in Darozai Union council of Killa Abdullah. Officials say that it is alarming that first two cases were also reported in Baluchistan.
After this report Government has decided to enhance the campaign to the citizen’s doorstep in multiple polio vaccination rounds. It should be noted that six polio cases were reported in KPK and Karachi.
