Donald Trump promises something big about cryptocurrency
Former US President Donald Trump is asking for support from people who trade in cryptocurrency for his 2024 presidential campaign. He shared his thoughts about this growing industry on his social media platform, Truth Social.
Trump wrote, “I am very positive and open-minded to cryptocurrency companies and all things related to this new and burgeoning industry. Our country must be the leader in the field.” He also said, “There is no second place” using all capital letters.
Trump criticised President Joe Biden saying that Biden wants the crypto industry to “die a slow and painful death that will never happen with me!”
Trump’s view on cryptocurrency has changed. In 2021 he told Fox Business, “The currency of this world should be the dollar. And I don’t think we should have all of the Bitcoins of the world out there. I think they should regulate them very very high.”
According to CNBC, Trump’s campaign is now accepting donations made in cryptocurrency. The campaign said that people can donate using “any cryptocurrency accepted through the Coinbase Commerce product.”
