Kenya released 1300 containers of rice stuck at the port. Containers of rice were stuck at Mombasa airport and now Ministry of Commerce confirmed the release of Pakistani containers containing rice. Ministry of Commerce further shared that a letter was written from Jam Kamal to Kenyan Ministry of Commerce and grabbed their attention towards this important situation in the Red Sea. The letter also discussed the reasons for delay which created obstacles.
After this communication of official through letters Kenyan Government has released the 1300 Pakistani containers of rice. Furthermore, it is good to know that Kenyan government has given access to Pakistani rice at zero rate until 30 November 2024.
