King Charles receives important honours and offers passionate words

King Charles and Queen Camilla attended the Chelsea Flower Show at the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London. It was their first time at the event together.

King Charles has succeeded his late mother Queen Elizabeth II as patron of The Royal Horticultural Society.

During their stay they spoke with farmers, designers and gardeners. They expressed their support for gardening and environmental conservation.

They looked at various gardens including The RHS No Adults Allowed Garden. Children designed this garden to inspire young people to start gardening.

King Charles wore a navy suit while Queen Camilla wore a blue dress and beige sandals. King Charles enjoys gardening and utilises organic methods in his garden at Highgrove.

Keith Weed President of the RHS complimented King Charles for his commitment to environmental issues and sustainability.

King Charles also wrote a book titled “The Elements of Organic Gardening” in which he discusses his gardening practices and beliefs.

Meanwhile Duchess Sophie of Edinburgh visited Italy to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Cassino. She read a message from King Charles that praised the bravery and sacrifices of those who participated in the war. The message emphasised the significance of the Battle of Monte Cassino in European history and praised the men’ courage.
