Russian Government has made a big development for Muslim women applying for Citizenship in Russia. As per new Rule Foreign Muslim Women can apply for citizenship with their Hijab Photos. As per statement issued by Russian Interior Ministry Muslim women are allowed to apply for Citizenship with Hijab photos but keeping in mind that their face should by completely visible from forehead to chin. Along with this applicant have to submit necessary documents as well.
This relaxation has been made to respect the religious beliefs of Muslims which prevent them appearing in front of strangers. Keeping in Mind that Russia has already allowed Muslim Women to use Hijab photos of official documents like Passport, driving licenses and work permits now they have extended this relaxation of citizenship as well. This new rule will be applicable from 5 May 2024.
