Punjab Government has re-allowed the use of Oyston injection which is indicated for diabetic patients with eyesight problems. Oyston Injection was banned by Punjab Government in 2023 when vision of a patient was affected by Oyston Injection. Now government has re-allowed the use of injection but with certain limitations.
Only doctors with 3 years of experience after post-graduation will be administer to use Oyston Injection, Government and private hospitals will buy this injection directly from the pharmacy and no health care professional will be allowed to reuse this injection once opened.
Oyston will be available only to registered pharmacies and authorized distributers can hold the stock and supply to the hospitals.
